Appreciation Letters handed over
The committee expressed the profound gratitude to Ms. Miek Dornseiffen, Mr. Daniel Gabriner, Mr. Paul Gabriner and Ms. Martha Bakker for the sponsorship of the Union website www.unitrav.org, by handing over to them appreciation letters in the presence of the executive member of Nepal Tourism Board and coordinator of the ‘Visit Pokhara Year 2007', Mr. Basu Dev Tripathi as its chief guest, in April 2007.

Shoes

Thanks to Mrs. Jennifer Mahran, the company Soles 4 Souls have set aside over 100 pairs of new (trekking)shoes to donate them to the Unitrav!!! The aim is helping the trekking guides/porters to wear good boots in their work.

This great donation is arrived in Nepal in march 2007.

10 Demands

President of UNITRAV (Union of Trekking Travels Rafting worker's Nepal), Western Regional Committee, Mr. Shiva Bhakta Thapa has submitted the following ten points demand regarding the problems of trekking guides and porters to the immediate Joint secretary Mr. Shankar Prasad Koirala for Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation on 31 July 2006. This letter was signed by 86 Trekking Guides, who were attended, in a closing ceremony of Eco-Trekking workshop at Pokhara.
